Breaking News! Mark Hamill has been cast as the voice of Chucky in the forthcoming “Child’s Play” reboot. The legendary actor stars alongside Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, and Brian Tyree Henry in a contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic that follows Karen (Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Bateman) a Buddy doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Now I’m not going to lie I was not really paying attention to this new reboot, however with a casting like this it at least gets me very interested in the prospects of the new child’s play film. Not to mention Hamill’s not a stranger to voice over work. Although he’s most notably recognized for his role as Luke Skywalker in the eponymous Star Wars franchise, but he’s also voiced characters in his illustrious career like The Joker in the Batman Animated Series amongst other media. Firelord Ozai in the Avatar The Last Airbender Series and a bevy of others. Following the success of the original “Star Wars” trilogy, he struggled to find meaningful acting work until recently. Throughout the mid-1980s and ’90s, he mainly took on a string of TV roles and voiceover work. Also see him back in the lime light with the new star wars movies and now this has been a pleasure and has definently caught my attention.
Everything so far seems to be tracking well for this film with the Producers of It being involved the stacked cast and now this announcement. I am definently intrigued. Are you? Comment down below.
